"Treatment of cancer and losing my voice"

About: Osborne Park Hospital

(as the patient),

First diagnosed in 2022 with cancer of the epiglottis which was removed and treated with chemotherapy and radiation.

Second diagnosis was cancer of the throat which was treated with chemotherapy and radiation. During the radiation I lost my voice and it was discovered one of my vocal cords had been damaged. I started doing exercises to strengthen my voice and also went to see a speech therapist at Osborne Park Hospital, which has improved my voice substantially. I was given exercises to do at home, and I was really impressed with my therapist and my treatment. Have 3 more sessions to go and then then will be reviewed.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive experience at Osborne Park Hospital. I was delighted to hear of the care that you have received and the progress you have made.

I will pass on your kind words of appreciation to the speech department who will welcome the acknowledgement.

I wish you all the best in your recovery.
