"Excellent care in ED"

About: Joondalup Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

While the wait after triage to get seen was a long time, the care I received was faultless and the wait I know is no fault of the hospital or staff working there.I was triaged and seen by the clerk quickly after arriving. I was a bit emotional about my condition while being triaged and the nurse so patient and sympathetic towards me. While in the waiting area I checked on frequently, had my blood pressure done twice and offered food, water and pain relief. The nurses were very caring and kind.

Once I got through everything happened a lot faster. I saw the consultant who was very thorough, listened to me and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. He also made up and administered IV medication in a very timely manner. The nurse that was with him was also really friendly and helpful. I quickly had a head CT and shoulder x-ray. Everyone imaging was exactly the same as all my other experiences with the rest of the staff.

I was seen by the RMO for results who was also very nice, went over everything with me again, was also very thorough and fortunately I was able to be discharged home.

Going in I was concerned about being judged because it was partially my fault I was there but everyone I came in to contact with couldn't have been kinder or more helpful and I definitely didn't feel at all judged.

Thank you very much to all the staff at Joondalup Health Campus ED for the exceptional care I received on I know must have been a very busy day. I wish I could remember everyone's name I came in contact with to thank them individually.
