"Hospital that can’t provide simple hospital services"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / 2 West & Hand Clinic

(as a service user),

I have attended the hand clinic of Sydney Hospital to get surgery on a thumb injured in a work accident involving a drill.

The injury has not been stitched even though I have attended Emergency at a different hospital and was directed here 6 days ago.

I am about to give up on any treatment.

I’ll fix the injury myself.

I have Private health insurance and it’s made no difference.

In my opinion, they cannot manage to get anything done.

In my experience, you are expected to wait for hour after hour , told nothing and then they send you home.

Dear Petxn93

Thank you for your sharing your experience with us and raising your concerns on the treatment of your injured thumb. We are sorry to hear you feel your injury has not been treated and communication has been poor. To allow us an opportunity to investigate your concerns we will require some additional details, so we would be grateful if you could contact us directly SESLHD-SSEHExecutiveServices@health.nsw.gov.au. Our main objective is to have you reviewed by the Surgical Hand Team to ensure appropriate treatment of your thumb injury occurs.

We always value patient feedback and the opportunities it generates for improvement.

Kind regards

Dr Pauline Rumma
