"Finger infection requiring amputation."

About: Bunbury Hospital / Sub-Acute Ward Royal Perth Hospital

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

Went to RPH as had an issue with groin and the toes (previous amputation on other toes, went for a decision on two remaining toes). Finger had been an issue for a few months and had previously had dressings. Whilst in RPH had mentioned it, it was assessed but they didn't treat it and was told to wait for it to drop off. No dressings put on. I spent two weeks in hospital and there was no care about the finger itself.

Was transferred to Bunbury Hospital. Started dressing it in hospital but was told the same advice that it would just fall off itself. Now out of hospital and infection has gone into the palm and the palm is quite sore. Still not close to dropping off but the palm involvement is an issue. Need to put weight on palm to get up and down due to other medical issues and the pain in the palm is affecting that. That means I can't off low toilets and get in and out of the car by self. Requiring a wheelchair to get to dialysis as can't transfer in the car. Also taking a lot of painkillers.
