"Unavailability of breakfast"

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

In ER and 6am asked for breakfast. Got told I was not eligible for two toast. Just a cup a tea.

Discharged myself against doctors advise to remain for a second tropnin blood test for my heart because I chose to feed myself. I regularly have breakfast at 5am every day, day in day out. But I couldn't get 2 toast in a Hospital.

Hi Remote Patient,

I sincerely apologise for your experience during your recent visit to our Emergency Department. We understand how important it is to have your needs met, especially when it comes to meals. We regret that we were unable to provide you with the breakfast you requested, and we are sorry that this impacted your patient care.

Whilst we can undertake a preliminary investigation, we would like you to reach out to us on mobile 0417 987 724 or broome.executiveassistant@health.wa.gov.au so we can investigate thoroughly and ensure this does not happen again.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Sincerely,

Millie Stewart
