"How great the nursing staff are at Fiona Stanley emergency centre"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Well my wife’s knee completely collapsed on her on a recent Thursday night and she was in terrible pain

Early Friday morning I decided to take her into Fiona Stanley emergency centre to see if they could help with the extreme pain she was suffering and an assessment of her damaged knee

As we arrived staff directed us where to go and away the process went

Soon we had completed the necessary paper work and were seated to wait our medical assessment

What an experience the nursing staff we saw were brilliant they couldn’t be more helpful and professional. I observed the how they effectively and efficient treated everyone despite some rather aggressive and rude behaviour from a few clients

With in minutes they comforted patients and calmed them down completely

We personally were treated with respect understanding assurance and in a most professional manner

My wife felt confident with the staff and the process. We both realised that the nursing staff were confident and in control so despite the pain my wife was in when we arrived she soon was give some temporary medical relief whilst awaiting assessment from competent doctors

This was  our first experience with Fiona Stanley Emergency Centre and the excellent nursing staff who deserve the highest accolades possible.

In my opinion, this Centre is extremely well organised and well run by dedicated nursing and administrative staff all of which work under enormous pressure

This was a real eye opener for my wife and I this first class service was such a wonderful surprise

So 10 out of 10 Nursing professionals and back up staff at Fiona Stanley Emergency service you handle crisis situations with a minimum of fuss, take a bow, you deserve it

Regards, T and family

Dear tucanahw74,

Thanks for your lovely Care Opinion, it brought me a lot of pride to personally share your thankful words with the team involved.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team in our ED here at FSH, and I am particularly grateful to hear of the compassion shown by our nursing staff and the highly competent administrative staff you encountered.

The level of care you described is exactly the patient-centred, collaborative and communicative care we strive to provide to all of our patients.

Thank you for taking the time to tell your story and I wish your wife all the best as she continues to recover.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty
