From the moment I walked into day surgery I was greeted with a smile from Janeen at the desk, I then had the most caring nurses in Esme and Bec. They wheeled me down to theatre, where I had a few questions about my procedure and nothing was too much for the staff. They answered my questions, even getting the surgeon to ease my fears.
Once I returned to the ward to recover, again I had two amazing nurses. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Overall my care and time spent at the regional, given the circumstances, was smooth, relaxing and I felt like I was in very capable hands.
The only thing I would mention that put a dampener on my recovery was, in the room of three other patients (all of which were elderly) their phones continuously rang loudly, they had their tvs on at quite an obnoxious volume and were yelling across the room to each other. I understand this happens in public hospitals with shared rooms but it definitely stopped me getting the rest I very much needed.
