My 94 year old mother was admitted to SCGH for stroke, despite having to wait with the paramedics in a waiting room for 8 hours before being admitted to ED, she was still assessed by the Dr and cared for by paramedics. Mum spent a total of 2 weeks at SCGH and OPH and the care she received by every nurse, speech pathologist, OT, physio, pharmacist, social worker, catering staff, cleaner and doctor was outstanding. Every clinician and team member treated Mum with such compassion and genuine care, she felt very safe and secure. Thank you for the wonderful work from ED and stroke unit staff at SCGH and Stroke Rehab Unit (Ward 2) at OPH. We are eternally grateful for your work.
