"Social work on geriatric ward"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Social Work Service

(as a friend),

I am wanting to give feedback about the fantastic work that social worker Nerissai did for a family friend of ours. The situation was complicated by the fact that our friend has dementia and her husband and carer had recently had a stroke.

Nerissai was so kind and supportive in helping us to understand what could be done to ensure that our friend and her husband could be discharged from hospital safely. Nerrissai must have done an enormous amount of work to arrange an Aged Care Assessment, a transitional care placement and a SAT hearing for our friend. She also participated in the SAT hearing and was able to ensure that this reached a satisfactory conclusion. This process was made easier for us all because of the care and consideration that Nerrissai provided.

We would like Nerrissai and her manager to be told how much we have appreciated her.

Dear swingkh38,

Thank you for this delightful feedback and for taking the time to share your story with us.

It is pleasing to hear how your family friend was able to receive such wonderful assistance from Social Worker Nerissai during such a difficult time in their life.

I have passed on your kind words to the Allied Health Area Director who will ensure Nerissai is aware of how their supportive, kind and considerate work has been recognised and appreciated.

I sincerely wish your family friend all the best.

Kind Regards,

Ben Noteboom
