"Our visit to Prince of wales emergency department"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My Husband and I attended Prince of wales emergency department.

My husband was suffering the symptoms of a possible Stroke or TIA .

We were greeted by a friendly reception person (great first encounter) that was empathetic and  professional. Then  to the triage nurse who also was caring and attentive despite being busy . Then we were welcomed by the acute nurses and medical team that made us feel very reassured and relaxed answered all our questions and concerns.

From acute we went to short stay.

At each part of our journey we were told what was happening in a friendly manner.

It appeared that the staff enjoy their work nothing was too much trouble to all the patients in their care ,as a visitor you see much of what happens around you.

I feel that the staff reflect great management as they are happy and enjoying their work place . This is very reassuring to us in their care when we are already under stress with ourselves or loved ones . Also nice that tea and coffee is available in the short stay ward.

Keep up the good work your kindness shines through. Thankyou to a great team.

Dear hekaxk65, thank - you for taking the time to write to us and share your positive care experience in our Emergency Department. We are delighted to read that all staff involved in your husband's care were empathetic and professional.

The Emergency Department takes great pride in making sure that all patients and their relatives are looked after with compassion and kindness. We are pleased to read that you were well informed and reassured on your husband's care journey.

We will ensure that your kind words of gratitude are passed on to the Emergency Department team, We hope that your husband has now recovered and is in better health.
