About: Osborne Park Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Osborne Park Hospital Womens and Newborn service. The MAPS program (Midwife Jo) who provided exceptional continuity of care pre and post birth, the midwives who supported me during my water birth (Luella and Jen) and all the staff who helped me in the antenatal clinic and on the ward. I have had such a wonderful birth and early post partum experience and I truly believe it is due to care provided by these midwifery led teams. I have been listened to and supported to make informed decisions about the care of me and baby and hope all parents to be have access to these person centred, midwifery led care programs in the future.

Initially I was unable to be a part of the MAPS program as they were booked for the month I was due to give birth however a spot opened up late in my pregnancy. I would like to see an increase in funding in MAPS and other related midwifery programs so all parents to be have this option of care as It was disappointing I could not be a part of this fabulous service from the beginning of my pregnancy journey.

Dear neptunegy87

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Maternity Antenatal and Postnatal Service (MAPS) program at Osborne Park Hospital. It's wonderful to hear how the dedicated midwives like Jo, Luella, and Jen made such a positive impact on your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Your reflections on the value of person-centered, midwifery-led care will mean so much to the team who cared for you. We’ll be sure to pass on your kind words to Jo, Luella, Jen, and the maternity staff at OPH for their positive impact they had on your experience.

Your feedback highlights the benefit of continuity of care models like MAPS, and it’s incredibly helpful to get feedback like yours to inform future service planning as we undertake an evaluation of our MAPS program.

Warm regards

Delaney
