"Clinical research on auto immune patients with dry eye syndrome"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

Replied to an online request in June 2024 for people with auto-immune conditions with dry eye syndrome to undertake a clinical study at Sydney Eye Hospital. I was accepted into the study which lasted for approximately 12 weeks with 6 visits to the hospital in that time.  Met with Study co-ordinator Ngozi on these occasions for regular eye examinations and blind trials with newly developed eye drops.  Unknown whether I was given the drops or a placebo - still awaiting results.

Prior to starting the trial I was given very detailed notes covering all the procedures at each visit. Ngozi and other staff I met during these visits were extremely caring and friendly and I felt very much at ease the whole time.
