"Family birth centre"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I’m immensely grateful I was recommended family birth centre at KEMH for my pregnancy and birth journey! Having a known midwife following my care gave peace of mind that I was being looked after with particular detail and attention to my personal requirements instead of being another patient in an appointment list.

I was given the time to ask my questions and concerns in the appointments and not rushed out the door. As a first time mum I very much appreciated the informative guidance and confidence that came with a relaxed and patient centred program. Birth is a life changing experience, and having a medical professional at my birth who I have built a rapport with, who I know has all my specific medical and personal information, that wasn’t lost in translation and notes, ensured I was relaxed and comfortable, which directly impacted the positive birth experience.

The homely and relaxing birth environment at fbc was amazing, allowing the possibility for various positions during labour, including the comfort of a private bathroom and water birth to labour in. I am now recommending the family birth centre to those who are expecting around me and will absolutely be returning if I have a future pregnancy! Thank you family birth centre :)

Dear alphatr69

Congratulations on the birth of your first born! It's wonderful to hear that you had such a positive experience at the King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) Family Birth Centre. The continuity of care from a known midwife and the personalized attention you received must have been incredibly reassuring, especially as a first-time mum.

The FBC is designed to provide a home-like environment for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care, and I’m so pleased to hear that you found these features beneficial and that they contributed to your positive birth experience. Thank you for taking the time to reach out, and for letting us know how much the care you received meant to you and your family.

Warm regards

Delaney
