"The last days of a friend of many years made peaceful for all"

About: Voluntary Assisted Dying Liaison Service

(as a friend),

After a long battle with recurrent illness, when we got to the time of progression and actually active dying, having the ability to make decisions about her final moments gave her the peace, comfort and control of her passing. For family it meant that she passed in the same way she lived her life, in control and with dignity. The service was seamless, organized without feeling “medical” and gave great comfort to all feeling the team really cared about her wishes and outcomes. The people care, are incredible in their management of the process from the moment you contact them, the process was comfortable and we felt so safe every step of the way.

Dear apusjk57,

Thank you for sharing your story. It is very heartening to hear that the team and the service could support the patient, their family and friends at a time of end of life.

We are very fortunate to have a very committed and caring team.

I will pass on your story to the team.

Kind Regards

Kathleen Boman
