Post birth surgery KEMH
I birth and was up in surgery in the wee hours of the next day.
During birth I had a tear that resulted in me being sent to surgery after birth at KEMH. My MGP midwife handed over to the anaesthetist and team prior to me being led into the surgery room. We were met by Jamie (I believe - he had a name on his hat with MDA brand) and his colleague who was a male with tattoos (sorry unsure of his name). I wanted to thank both for being so kind to me. Jamie explained everything so clearly while I was in an exhausted and very vulnerable state. His colleague made me feel like he had my wellbeing at the top of his priority’s. He held my hand while I was being injected in my back. He told me her would hold my hand as long as I needed him. He was so kind and clear when explaining what was happening in a very comforting way. They both could see I was so scared. Jamie? put music next to my ear so I didn’t have to hear the clinical chatter about my procedure. I just waved then to know I really appreciate them and how they made me feel during a really scary time for me.
KEMH breast feeding center staff are great
I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for Deb and the team at the KEMH Breast Feeding Center.
Deb and the team offered such great help via telephone and in person. When I called before and after consultation Deb was the person who continued to call me back. Knowing my story she offered valuable feedback. In person, the appointment was thorough and helpful. I left with a game plan and confidence after arriving feeling unsure and stressed. Since visiting and speaking with Deb I have achieved a successful breast feeding journey which is continuing to evolve.
Thank you for making me feel so normal and heard as well as validating my stresses and reassuring me I was going well.
