"MAPS experience"

About: Osborne Park Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

It was an absolute pleasure having Erin as our MAPS midwife for our third and final pregnancy. We are forever grateful for Erin’s support, service and care from Day 1 and it has been an incredible journey to have shared this experience with her.

I always felt respected and cared for and she was always so resourceful and supportive.

Being an older mother with an anticipated larger baby, I was concerned about needing to be induced as this wasn’t something we had come across with our two other pregnancies. Erin was very patient and explained the procedure as well as providing resources discussing risks/benefits of induction and that of carrying pregnancy post 39 weeks at my age. This allowed me to make an informed decision about my own health care. This is so important to a mother who can at times feel overwhelmed with all the medical jargon at a doctors appointment.

I sincerely hope that MAPS could be extended to a wider scope, if not offered to every mother  and baby in the future.

Dear Third time Mummy,

Congratulations on the birth of your third baby and thank you for sharing your experience with the Maternity Antenatal Postnatal Service (MAPS) at Osborne Park Hospital. It sounds like Erin was an incredible support for you during your pregnancy journey! It's wonderful to hear how she made you feel respected, cared for, and well-informed. Your experience highlights the benefits of continuity of care with a compassionate and knowledgeable midwife who can provide clear information and support. We’re so pleased to hear your positive feedback about MAPS, and are committed to exploring options to expand continuity of care models across our services.

We will certainly share your kind words with Erin, and I'm sure she will be very pleased to hear how comfortable and well-cared-for you felt.

Wishing you and your family all the best,

Delaney
