"Turned away from ED"

About: Collie Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

I am writing this story on behalf of my parent who is in his 80s who was turned away from ED in the early hours of the morning. The nurse came out to the car and told them we don't have a Dr or an Ambulance, I can't even give you a panadol as my parent was in pain, and to drive to Bunbury Hospital. My sibling then drove my parent to Bunbury Hospital where they were seen immediately and given pain relief.

Dear gammaqf65,

I am very sorry to hear of your parent's experience at Collie Hospital, trying to seek medical attention and pain relief when they were unwell. We do have a Specialist Doctor available 24/7, either at the hospital, close on call or available via the Emergency Specialist Telehealth Service all the time. If you could please call me on M: 0438 062 341 so I can get some details and look into what has occurred.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Higgins
