Last week I visited the emergency department of the Sydney Eye Hospital. I am an active and healthy 72 year old male and have never before visited the hospital. A gardening mishap resulted in a pebble being thrown up with velocity from a whipper snipper causing pain, bloodied eye, and concern re damage to eyesight.
I was attended to quickly in emergency, and after a short wait, I was triaged by a nurse (Georgia) who immediately put me at ease with empathy, concern and a sense of light relief. I was quickly entered into system and moved to an assessment and testing nurse (Tian) who quickly took vital signs, noted history and any medications etc and tested eye pressures etc … she was invested and professional, and responded in a relaxed way to my presence - it put me at ease. The registrar (Prokshi) did a quick analysis before I was moved to await further analysis. At every stage I felt I was being considered and was confident of the care being given. After a wait (other more urgent cases seen) I was given very professional care and response to my situation. I cannot emphasise how happy I was to have my situation reviewed and handled by these very capable nurses and doctor. Thank you
"Very good experience at the Sydney Eye Hospital"
