"Angelic and beyond excellent"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Kalgoorlie Outpatient Clinic Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Medical Ward

(as the patient),

Firstly before I launch into my appraisal of the excellent service and care at Kalgoorlie Hospital, I need to mention that I believe Marina ( Social worker ) is absolutely snowed under with a huge workload (needing extra social worker staff to assist).

I understand that a mountain of complex work and issues face her every work day and in my opinion, this causes over tiredness and even exhaustion.

I believe that fatigue is a constant companion for Marina.

Onto the bright shining brilliance of all the care and service to me as a patient at Kalgoorlie Hospital.

Absolutely faultless .

Truly magnificent.

Angelic and beyond excellent.

From the Ambulance and Police who rescued me in remote Bushland to every doctor and nurse, they were all magical and brilliant.

Special mention for Dr Iman who I felt was superb and so skilled and caring.

The staff I saw are all wonderful human beings and boosted my belief in the generosity and empathy of beautiful souls .

I will never forget my experiences , so wonderful.

Dear hadarss67

It was such a pleasure to share your story with Marina and Dr Iman and the team, we also believe they provide wonderful care to our community. Marina has been at the Kalgoorlie Health Campus for a number of years and is very committed to patient welfare which at times can also be very complex as you stated. Staff recruitment is an issue for us and a lot of other country towns in WA, but WA Country Health Services have been very supportive and creative in looking at all options to entice staff to come to the country. Over the coming months we hope to see our workforce strengthen which will then flow into the services and care we provide.

I really appreciate that you took the time to share your thoughts, it means a lot to us and always gives us time to reflect and, when required, look at ways we can enhance and improve services and care. I hope that you are well and truly over the ordeal of your time in the bush.

Kind regards,

Margaret Smillie
