"I was hospitalised in Emergency room."

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I didn't think it was that serious.

I thought I will just get prescription and get medicine and go back home.

As soon as I told the reception airport have difficulty to breath she put the finger clip and put me on oxygen mask and called the bed to the front. I was not aware how dangerous state I was.

But luckily I was capable to receive the professional treatment quickly. I got well very soon.

Without the help of professionals in Broome hospital I believe I was dead a week ago.

Thank you for keeping me safe and helping me to get well.

The only thing that has negative effect from being hospitalised and fixed and get second chance to live is I lost my job. Because I had to explain my job I cannot go to work because actually I was hospitalised.

I think my unprofessional explanation about my health issue made my employer to decide to fire me.

If there is hospital team can inform or better explanation to my employer it may help.

It cannot weigh heavier than my life and also the effort from amazing medical team in Broome hospital. I cannot complain in this state.

But I just hope that if I wasn’t the one to tell my employer that I’m unwell, a professional would explain it to them instead.

Now I lost income source. Also used all my fund to hospital fee. Once again it is way cheaper than my life. But I am stuck bottom of financial statement.

I hope I can get receipts from hospital as soon as possible so I can claim my insurance.

I can still ask help to my friend and my family. But this shouldn't happen to anyone.

I understand the workplace doesn't want to hire sick people who will possibly claim sick leaves in the future. I never used sick leave in my life also never claim work place compensation. But employers are just scared of cost and they prefer not hire someone has possibility of getting sick.

If the medical professional can explain better way to employer it may help to loose the worry or stress to employees.

Thank you.
