"Healthcare workers are heroes"

About: Prince of Wales Hospital / Campus Centre 2 - Billington Endoscopy Unit

(as the patient),

I had a colonoscopy at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, at the Billington Centre. It was a long wait but the staff I saw were all amazing!

They are so human, so caring, and I was especially moved when I saw 4 staff swarming around a young girl who seemed anxious and distressed during the colonoscopy preparation. I recall they were holding her hand, asking her about her favourite food, and reassuring her.

Watching them caring for people so routinely brought tears of gratitude to my eyes. I often think that healthcare workers are the ones in our society who should be earning the millions, not business people. I believe our healthcare workers deserve so much more recognition and much better conditions to show them how important they are for everyone of us!

Dear peppermj33

Thank you for your heartfelt feedback and for taking the time to share your experience at the Billington Centre. We’re so pleased our team’s compassion and care made a lasting impression—it means a great deal to them to be recognised in this way. Your words are a powerful reminder of the impact that genuine, everyday kindness can have.

Kind Regards

Andrew Maxwell
