About: Pilbara Population Health

(as the patient),

Hurt my shoulder approx two months ago.

Thought maybe a pulled muscle it will go away.

After 1 month problem hadn't improved and went to GP.

GP refered to hospital for scan, hospital informed me it would take weeks to get a scan appointment.

Me wanting to get on top of this problem asked if I could use referral elsewhere, I was directed to go to a private company for scan.

Scan confirmed minor rotator cuff tear.

Same GP referred me to Physio treatment at the hospital.

Dropped of my referral and told I would be triaged and contacted for appointment date.

After two weeks of no contact did go back to hospital reception.

There I am now informed I can expect to be contacted re an appointment any time in the next 5 months.

Me finding this unacceptable asked for my referral back that I might seek treatment elsewhere.

I consider I might only need one or two sessions to educate me on what exercise or stretches might improve my situation and to be told to wait 5 months ridiculous. Please expand imaging department and put on more physio staff.

It has now been 2 1/5 months since my injury with no input from Karratha hospital. I do not wish to support the private health industry.
