I have been fortunate to receive counselling and advocacy from HammondCare. I was able to achieve my goal of keeping my beloved Mamma at home until her death (at home) last year.
One staff member helped me achieve this.
Mamma didn’t speak much English and suffered from an anxiety disorder as well as chronic pain and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Caring for Mamma was the most challenging undertaking of my life so far. It was never optional, it would have been counter-intuitive to not do it.
Thank you, HammondCare, for providing this essential service for which I will be forever grateful especially as I gave up work as a Registered nurse for more than 2 years to care for Mamma and the cost and travelling time would have made accessing counselling so much more difficult.
