"Visit to eye emergency"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

I visited the triage with a referral for a possible damaged cornea.   I was met with what I felt was a rude welcome. The person who entered my details also insisted that I put my head closer to the security glass, as I could not hear what they were saying. In my opinion, this staff member rudely indicated my inability to hear them was irritating them. I felt this was unbelievably rude service!

Dear Irritated

I apologise for your poor experience with the staff member within the Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital Emergency Department recently. I am disappointed with the described behaviour of the staff member. It is expected staff be respectful and professional to all our patients and I appreciate you bringing your experience to my attention. Your feedback is valuable, it will be shared with the manager and staff allowing staff to reflect on your experience.

I trust your eye concern is improving.

Kind regards

Jennie
