"Broken femur - Nursing department"

About: Collie Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was taken to the Collie Hospital emergency room recently after breaking my femur from falling from a table. The EMT (Emergency Medical Transport) staff Emma and Jan made me feel very relaxed and did exactly what I had previously considered their job description and then some. Keeping me calm whilst remaining vigilant and having my needs held above all. Once at the ER I was met with the same care and concern by a nurse on duty, Bobbie. She informed me of what was going on and what to expect considering my likely prognosis prior to conclusive x-rays. Could not have felt safer whilst in the care of these ladies.

Dear hippoxh36

Thank you so much for taking time to provide such complimentary feedback to the Collie Hospital Emergency Department staff.

Having a fractured femur is an extremely frightening and painful experience. The Collie Hospital Emergency Department staff have great pride in the care that they deliver to their community members. I will forward your feedback to the EMT team and will also ensure that Bobbie receives this.

I hope that you are recovering well and again many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback as this helps to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the community.

Kind Regards

Lucy Murphy

A/District Manager Wellington
