"Sydney Eye Hospital"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

I was referred by GP to see the eye doctor at Sydney Eye Hospital. The nurse of Eye Hospital asked me to get the report from local optometrist first. After the nurse reviewed the optometrist report, they referred to give me an appointment. I was so disappointed and insisted to see the doctor, therefore they finally gave me an appointment.

I went to the hospital recently and arrive 15 minutes before my appointment time, I waited more than 2 hours then a nurse gave me a consultation. The nurse told me I had to spend a day as I had to wait and relax my pupils. I did not expect to spend a whole day here, therefore I left and rescheduled my appointment.

At my next appointment, I was so surprised I only spent one hour in the clinic and finished. The eye doctor discharged my file and I don't need to come here anymore.

If I don't need to spend a whole day for the appointment, I do not need to take a day off for my work. So disappointed and frustrated.

Dear earthgq34

I apologise that your recent experience in the Eye Outpatient Department was frustrating and the communication you received about how long the appointment will take was inconsistent. Your feedback is valuable and I thank you for taking the time to share this with us. Your story will be relayed to the staff in the Outpatient Department.

All the best

Kind regards

Jennie
