"Wonderful staff support"

About: Kerang Hospital

(as a relative),

My father has terminal lung cancer and wants to be nursed at home by his family. We went to hospital to get pain under management. Once staff were aware of my dad's wishes to be at home, the staff did everything they could to make this happen and to give us the necessary support to assist us in caring for him at home. Thank you.

Dear marchsm86,

Your father is so lucky to have a supportive family who can work towards achieving his wish of being nursed at home. It is fantastic that the nurses at the hospital respected these wishes and worked towards this common goal with you all. Please do not hesitate to contact the hospital on 54509200 or the district nursing team on 54509292 if there is anything more you need assistance with, or if your father's pain becomes unmanageable again. Also the palliative care team from Swan Hill Hospital provide a supportive service to our area too, and have invaluable advice and knowledge in this area.

Thank you for sharing your father's story and your experience of the hospital.

Kind Regards

Chloe
