"Rude member of reception staff"

About: Dental Services (Bass Coast Health)

(as a parent/guardian),

I feel it is important that I report this staff member.

I have been attending the Bass Coast Dental Clinic for approx. 2+ years. My children, my partner and myself.

My complaint is about a member of the reception staff.

Each and every time over the 2+ years that we have been attending, I feel that this staff member is so extremely rude. So rude that they actually upset the rest of my day.

This member of staff's tone and the way they speak to clients/patients is, in my opinion, terrible. This staff member is almost never friendly and I feel they are always disrespectful with their tone towards not only us but other people at the counter. I'm astonished that in 2019 with so many people out of work and looking for a job that this person has been able to keep their receptionist job.

I love Bass Coast Health and have never had any bad experiences in any clinic. I feel like I need to tell somebody in charge or higher up as this is not what should be going on in a clinic. I feel I need to voice my concerns as Bass Coast Dental has a lot of vulnerable people come in and I would like to make sure that they are spoken to nicely. Thank you.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. It is essential that people feel welcomed and supported by our reception staff and I am very sorry that this has not been the case for you or your family. I would very much like to get some detail about these interactions so that I can understand when it is happening, and then support the staff member to change their approach. Kindness, and ensuring patients and their families are being treated respectfully and compassionately are very much in line with our values and our expectation.
