Last month, I went into hospital under the care of the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP5) after experiencing contractions along with reduced fetal movements. As a first-time mum, I was feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, but I was incredibly fortunate to have my midwife Ginny by my side throughout the entire experience.
During labour, it became clear that my little boy needed a bit of extra help. His heart rate began to drop and wasn’t recovering as quickly as expected, so an episiotomy and forceps delivery were needed to ensure he arrived safely. Despite the unexpected turn, I felt completely supported and reassured the entire time.
I can’t speak highly enough of Ginny — the care, compassion, and strength Ginny showed from start to finish made all the difference. Thanks to her, I look back on my son's birth as a positive and empowering experience, even with the challenges we faced.
