"Emergency Dept at Albany after my son was kicked by a horse"

About: Albany Health Campus / Emergency Department Albany Health Campus / Medical and Children's Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

I would love to commend the nurses and drs who helped my son from about 5pm on Friday last week. Unfortunately I am shocking with names. My son is non speaking, ASD 3, and has combined ADHD. The staff were lovely and understanding, especially the nurse with the uk accent and the lady dr who was wearing a scarf and mask. They were run off their feet but took the time to listen to us in regards of how to treat him, including looking up his records to find out which sedation has previously been a success.

He had been kicked by a horse and was scared and in pain, and they respected his unique way of communicating and were sweet and kind with him and us. What was a terrifying accident was made less awful by their genuine kindness and care. Well done guys! My son is recovering well at home and is almost back to his bouncy self already 🙌🏼

Dear cetusbr57

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt message. It's truly wonderful to hear about the exceptional care your son received during such a distressing time. Your kind words about our medical and nursing staff mean a great deal, and we will be sure to pass your message along to all the staff involved in your son's care. It’s heartening to know that even under immense pressure, the staff took the time to listen to you and ensure your son's unique needs were met and that he was treated with respect. Your gratitude speaks volumes about the impact of their kindness and dedication. It is reassuring to know that your son is recovering well.
