About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as the patient),

The family birthing centre at KEMH was not only fully supportive of every part of my pregnancy but gave me the confidence to have a voice to make positive decisions. I had complications due to baby being in breech and although my birth was transferred to the hospital I was not abandoned by my wonderful and dedicated midwife from the birthing centre. She even came to my c section when she didn't need to. This place is invaluable and I recommend to any woman. They make you feel like a person and they genuinely care about you. Cannot put into words how amazing everyone is and how good the care was. Thank you so much. Special mention to Sarah our fantastic midwife, wouldn't of made it without you.....you're priceless 😀. So much love for this place ❤️

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for sharing your story with us. Your experience at the Family Birthing Centre(FBC) at KEMH sounds truly remarkable! It's heartwarming to hear how supportive and caring the staff were, especially Sarah, your midwife. It's great to know that despite the change in your birth plan, you felt safe and well-cared for.

We are extremely proud of the kindness and compassion demonstrated by our staff. Our teams are always delighted to receive such warm recognition, and we’ll be sure to let Sarah and the rest of the FBC team know how much their care meant to you.
