"Regional care - Albany"

About: Albany Health Campus / Emergency Department Royal Perth Hospital

(as the patient),

Hi there,

I’m an Albany resident, who had a motorbike crash in Albany and was then transferred to a Royal Perth Hospital. I’m now happily back in Albany and I’m having to deal with Telehealth appointments from Perth and get X-rays etc in Albany. I feel that all this information getting transferred to and from hospitals is exhausting and I believe it can be better spent on the care to patients. I haven’t had 1 bad experience with a nurse or carer in my case. The ground staff I saw were excellent, it was more the busy doctor's that always kept me waiting. I’m confident that the Albany crew can take my recovery from here. I hope this gets through to the right people so there will be no more holdups or confusion.

Regards,

runningyy75

Dear runningyy75,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your motorbike accident and subsequent care journey between Albany and Royal Perth Hospital.

We appreciate your recognition of the excellent care provided by nurses, carers, and ground staff throughout your treatment. It is heartening to know that their support made a positive impact during a challenging time.

We acknowledge your concerns regarding the coordination of Telehealth appointments and the transfer of medical information between facilities. Your feedback highlights an important area where we can continue to improve communication and streamline processes to reduce the burden on patients.

Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and we are glad to hear that you are back in Albany and on the road to recovery.

Kind Regards,

Ben Noteboom

Dear runningyy75,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad you're recovering well and back in Albany.

We understand the frustration of managing care across hospitals and appreciate your feedback on the challenges with Telehealth and information transfer. We would like to see this improve and would appreciate it if you can contact us directly via our consumer feedback email ahc.feedback@health.wa.gov.au so we can investigate more thoroughly.

It’s great to hear that the Albany team and nursing staff provided excellent care.

Thanks again for helping us improve patient care.

Best wishes for a full recovery

Kate Hambleton
