About: Patient Assisted Travel Scheme - WACHS Midwest

(as a service user),

I have been dropping of PATS Forms at the geraldton regional now since october 2025. Everytime i go there there is a line up for at least an hour as there is only one person at the desk at anyone time I asked the staff member how long does it take to process a form, as I had put some in at the start of October it's now mid Jan. The staff member said they were so under staffed. Is there a chance we can get 2 people at least to be behind the counter cheers

I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the challenges you’ve faced obtaining your PATS reimbursements and acknowledge that currently these are taking longer than our community should expect.

I wish to confirm that WA Country Health Service are continually looking at options to address the waiting periods. This includes attempts to recruit additional staffing to speed up processing times, have an increased customer service presence at the Geraldton office and ease the burden on our fantastic team, who are working extremely diligently to assist our community.
