I had to have a d&c due to missed miscarriage. We had already done the nipt and were told the baby was high risk for down syndrome but both myself and my husband asked for and wanted and mentioned multiple times to multiple people that we wanted the products from the d&c tested to confirm the down syndrome diagnosis.
After my procedure I was told the specialist centre would contact me for a follow up appointment with the gyno in 2 weeks, this never happened. I made an appointment with my doctor at 5 weeks post op because I still had bleeding and still had not heard from the specialist centre, my doctor organised an Ultrasound for me.
The Ultrasound technician then had to contact the gyno for me because there was obvious product remaining in my uterus and I still had not heard from them. I finally saw them at almost 6 weeks and they didnt know id even had the Ultrasound, then I asked what the results were from the testing of products that were removed that we very clearly asked for to be tested and I was told they didnt send them for testing!
How do you not follow up with a patient after surgery? How can multiple people be told "we want this tested for down syndrome" and then that not happen? In my experience, the level of care at this hospital is just none existent and im honestly so disappointed.
