I requested via my GP to be referred to the MGP programme at KEMH. I was keen to have continuity of care and midwife led experience.
I was very much hoping to have a VBAC after my first baby was born via c-section as he was breech. As it turned out, my second baby was also breech! My midwife and the obstetrician I spoke to were incredibly respectful and listened to my wishes and concerns. They provided me with all information, risks and reasoning behind their recommendations. I did opt for a planned c-section and while this was disappointing in some ways, I know it was the best, informed decision. My midwife had been with me throughout pregnancy for all check ups, she was there at the birth of my baby and then followed up with me at my home, which was such a special experience. The care I received at KEMH was so considerate and all the nurses and midwife’s so warm and gentle. I get emotional just thinking about the experience! I now recommend the MGP program to call friends and family.
