"Incredible care at KEMH"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as the patient),

I’ve been meaning to say a huge thank you to all the King Eddies teams for taking such amazing care of me throughout my pregnancy and birth earlier this year. I think of you all so often!

A special thank you to Kirsty at the Family Birth Centre for your incredibly thorough and nurturing care during my pregnancy. You were so generous with your time, always made me feel listened to and supported, and helped me feel confident and prepared for the birth.

To FBC midwives Liv and Viv, thank you for your calm reassurance, humour, respect and encouragement throughout labour. I felt you went above and beyond for me, and I’ll always be grateful.

A huge thank you also to midwife coordinator Sam and Dr Chloe for stepping in and supporting me when things didn’t quite go to plan. I felt so lucky to have such a wonderful team around me, all advocating for me and helping make the experience as positive as possible.

And a ginormous thank you to the Ward 3 staff, who were so warm, gentle and empowering. You made both me and my husband feel completely comfortable, and we never felt like our questions were silly.

Thank you all so much. We feel very lucky to have been cared for by such a wonderful team. ❤️

Dear foxtrotdq78,

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words for the care your received here at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). It was heartwarming to read that even though you gave birth earlier in the year you still think of the wonderful team that cared for you during pregnancy and labour.

It was lovely to hear how confident and supported Kirsty made you feel during your antenatal journey and that this high level of care continued into labour with Liv, Viv, Sam and Dr Chloe going above and beyond and ensuring you remained well informed when things didn’t go quite to plan. I was glad to read how comfortable you and your husband felt with the team on the ward and that your overall experience made you feel lucky to be cared for at KEMH.

Care and respect are important values to us, and your positive experience is a credit to all those who oversaw your journey. I will be sure your kind words are shared amongst the teams that cared for you.

Wishing you and your family all the best.

Kind regards,

Kirstie
