I attended the hospital due to extremely painful abdominal cramps and was seen by a doctor in Emergency who stated that they thought I had diverticulitis caused by adhesion's of a large scar from an operation many years ago. No further testing was offered and I was told I needed to stay in hospital for 48 hours fasting and then a tube would be inserted to rectify the problem. I asked what would happen if I didn't do this and was told that, the man from upstairs might come and take me away. I researched diverticulitis on The Government Better Health Channel site online and antibiotics are the first method of treatment before any invasive procedures. I left and will never go to Knox Hospital again.
"Invasive procedure recommended when all I needed was antibiotics"
