My child had a cut on their upper thigh and needed stitches.
We arrived at triage at around 6pm. The triage nurse was very kind and we then went through to the Clerk who was also very understanding.
It was however, when we were called into the 'procedure' room, that I was super impressed with the care my child received.
Understandably my child was very upset and in a little shock. The Nurse Practitioner (Anthony) who treated my child was fantastic. He was kind, caring and funny - everything a parent could wish for when treating an injured child. He was honest with my child and explained everything that would be involved in getting stitches. Of course my child cried, however he dealt with the tears in a very gentle manner, in fact I am sure if he has children it would be the same way in which he would have treated his own.
Please pass on my thanks on to Anthony - this wonderful member of the Geraldton Regional Hospital. :)
