"Emergency department waiting times"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Cardiology Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

When visiting a vascular surgeon, I suffered severe heart palpitations. I was sent to Cardiology for an ECG which showed an abnormal ECG - when I went back to the doctor, he rang a Cardiologist and I was sent to ED to see him.   Four hours later, despite my having a note from the doctor, I was still waiting although I had had another ECG. Eventually, despite repeated enquiries to the staff and being told the wait was several hours, I gave up and went home (with my palpitations). Talk about indifference!
