"Our mother's care whilst in Brookview Aged Care Northampton"

(as a relative),

Our mother was only at Brookview for 11 months before she passed recently.  

To Di and all the staff at the above facility, words cannot express our appreciation for the love and care shown to our mother over the 11 months when our mother became a resident of Brookview. 

Mum loved being part of this special community until she could no longer participate in the activities. The love and compassion shown to her as she tired will forever be remembered. Over the last 8 days of Mum's life, the respect and support given to our entire family (7 children and their partners including a few grandchildren) who set up a vigil by her side and took over the east wing of the hospital, we will be forever grateful. Our entire family, including my mother, received much love and support and helped us all to let go and feel at peace as she passed. It truly was a great way to accept and heal as a family.

You should be extremely proud of each and every member of your staff who showed their love and compassion, especially through the final days.

Our community is so blessed to have such a facility who cares, supports and loves the residents.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Firstly I would like to offer my sincere condolences on the passing of your mother and thank you for sharing such personal experience on Patient Opinion. It was such a pleasure to read your lovely words about your mother’s time at Brookview and the wonderful care and support she received.

I will be very proud to pass your compliment onto Di and the team at Northampton Health Service, who work hard at ensuring all residents are shown respect and a sense of community whilst at Brookview. I know the team will be very grateful to hear they were able to make your mother’s time at Brookview special and a difficult time for you and your family a little easier.

Stories like this remind us that providing healthcare is so much more than treating the ill, it’s about providing compassion, support and appropriate care to both the patient and their families and loved ones
