"Follow-up from emergency department treatment"

About: Esperance Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Following admission into the emergency department for treatment for a severe vertigo attack the hospital staff were very thorough and tested for a range of other problems that may have contributed to the vertigo. One test was to eliminate a urinary tract infection. Nine days later I was contacted to say the test was positive. By this time I was in Perth looking after my grandchildren.

I was disappointed that it took so long to contact me further complicating the difficulty of getting medical attention for a UTI.

Dear Hampy,

I can understand your disappointment at the 9 days taken to contact you following pathology tests. In order for this to be fully investigated so that corrective measures can be instigated, I ask that you please contact the A/Operations Manager- Esperance, Margaret Smillie on 08 9079 8071. Thank you for taking the time to bring your situation to our attention. It is feedback such as yours that leads to improvements in our service.

Kind regards
