I have seen Dr Nicholas at PMH (Princess Margaret Hospital) for the past 2 years before seeing him at PCH (Perth Children's Hospital) when it opened. I have hip dysplasia and just have not been right since playing in a netball game where we were taken to PMH. After having x-rays, MRI's, CT scans and a cortisone injection it showed that I needed the periacetabular osteotomy surgery. The wait times at PCH meant I wouldn't have the surgery for another 3 or so months so we went to Hollywood Orthopeadic Group and saw him there where we booked the surgery for 3 weeks time.
Since then I have had the surgery and am recovering. Throughout our time seeing Dr Nicholas he has been amazing and keeping us up to speed with what was going on. Before the surgery he came to pre-op making sure I was ok with what was going on and running me though exactly what was happening again during the surgery. I stayed in hospital for a week then was able to go home and we have seen Dr Nicholas twice since then. I most likely need the same surgery on my other hip.
Thank you Dr Nicholas for being an awesome doctor and surgeon, making sure I was alright. We could never thank you enough! Also a thank you to all the staff who saw us: )
I believe he is a great surgeon who needs to be recognised for his great work in paediatrics.
