"My appointment"

About: Ipswich Hospital

(as the patient),

I had a 9:30am appointment in Orthopaedics and arrived at 9:15am. All was well. Was told approximately a half hour later that the specialist I was to see was running an hour behind, no worries, these things happen. Was not seen by a doctor until 12:30pm only to be told that the specialist was not there! The doctor I saw was constantly interrupted by phone and people coming to talk to him. This is my second visit and I was told on my first visit that I would see the specialist today and that I needed to. By the time we finally left the hospital I had markedly increased pain levels. It would have been far more professional and kinder to have been told the truth and have the opportunity to make another appointment for when the specialist was available.
