"My experience in the ED"

About: Angliss Hospital

(as the patient),

Waiting in ED for 3+hours (understandable)

No obs were taken and I felt the girls were terribly rude. Asked for pain relief and anti nausea tablets 3 times before something was done. Came in with the problem and then back with the same problem almost a week later. In unbelievable pain.

Dear juneyf57

Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback regarding your recent experiences when attending the Emergency Department at Angliss Hospital.

I appreciate your understanding re. the waiting time you experienced, although we are always trying to keep this to an absolute minimum.

I'm sorry your experience was not a positive one, including finding the staff rude and you needing to ask three times for pain relief and anti-nausea medications. I will share your comments with the managers of the Emergency Department so they can use your experience for staff to learn and where necessary make improvements.

With regards to you needing to return with the same problem a week later (or your experience in total), I would welcome you making contact with one of our Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either via calling 1800 EASTERN or via email at feedback@easternhealth.org.au so we can obtain further details from you privately.

I trust the issue that took you to the Emergency Department is on the improve and I hope we hear from you soon.

Kind regards

David
