About: Albany Health Campus / Maternity Ward

(as the patient),

I just wanted to sing the praises of the Shared Care Midwife/GP program at Albany Health Campus. In particular midwives Jane, Jade and GPO (GP Obstetrician) Yen.

From the very beginning of my appointments I felt cared for - a high level of professionalism, knowledge and empathy were experienced at every stage.

I was really keen to avoid an induction of labour - and the staff were happy to support me in my decision, and organised regular monitoring to ensure baby was healthy. At the 42 week mark I agreed to an induction, as the pros and cons were presented to me. 

After induction I delivered a healthy baby - the care during labour and post partum was fantastic. The midwives were wonderful at pre-empting my every need, and meeting my birth preferences where possible.

It is always pleasing to hear patients acknowledge the dedication and hard work of all our staff. It reinforces that we are achieving what we strive to do - quality patient centred care in often challenging circumstances.
