"4 days and still no surgery"

About: Maroondah Hospital / Emergency Department Screening and Assessment Service Maroondah

(as the patient),

Having had a breast removal and chemo recently, I go to emergency due to excessive bleeding and now I have been in Maroondah for 4 days awaiting an elective surgery to find out and stop this. I have been given no solid food and the pain has doubled. Whilst your nurses are amazing, I believe your surgical team's incompetence in not getting this sorted is ridiculous.

Dear septemberhy84

Many thanks for taking the time to share comments regarding your experience at Maroondah Hospital. I would like to apologise you had to wait so long to receive this surgery.

I understand you received this surgery shortly after you made this post, but in order for us to learn more regarding why you waited so long, I would welcome you making contact with one of our Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either by calling 1800 EASTERN or emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au

Again, thank you for your comments and post and I hope we hear from you soon.

Kind regards

David
