"My car accident"

About: Kununoppin Health Service / Emergency Department Royal Flying Doctor Service

(as the patient),

I had a pretty bad car accident I presented at the hospital at about 6: 30 am. I showed shoulder pain, hip pain and abdominal pain. All the staff at Kununoppin Hospital made me feel safe and very comfortable they were all very professional and well-conducted in everything that they did. There was also a doctor on the screen near the bed who could see me on camera it was absolutely amazing - the care and professionalism that they showed. If my family or myself were ever in need of their services again, I would be 100% confident that we would be very well cared for.

I was then transferred in the Royal Flying Doctors. Once I was passed onto the doctors of the Royal Flying Doctor Service they were all very professional and very helpful in helping me understand what was happening and where I was about to go. I never thought I would have to use this service but I am so glad and very thankful that this service was available to me at this time. I commend the doctors and the pilot of this service on the day that I was treated.

Dear Dhuyjnr

Thank you for taking the time to provide your lovely feedback about your experience with the Kununoppin Health Service.

I am delighted to hear that you found our staff efficient, friendly, reassuring and professional during this stressful time.

The use of video conferencing with Emergency Doctors in Perth is definitely amazing as it allows patients to be assessed at their local hospitals, reducing the need for patients to be transferred to a hospital within the region where a doctor is on duty and then transferred to Perth if required.

We also appreciate the service Royal Flying Doctors provide and our staff ensure they handover all the necessary patient information to make the patient’s ongoing journey as comfortable as possible.

I hope you are well on the road to recovery and I will have great pleasure in passing on your appreciation to our staff.

Your story will also be passed onto the staff across the region, to demonstrate the importance of compassion and reassurance and the positive impact it has on our patients and their families experiences.

Kind Regards

Carolynne
