"Treatment at Beverley Hospital"

About: Beverley Health Service / Emergency Department Telehealth Service - WACHS Wheatbelt

(as a relative),

My husband got knocked in the knee and had a gash down his leg.  As he has had both knees replaced, it was a bit of a concern, as the knee cap was well off centre.   We went to the Beverley Hospital and the ladies Sonia & Jo who were on duty were very caring and sympathised with his injury.  The telehelp doctor was contacted, and under his instruction Sonia was able to 'pop' the knee cap back into place.  He was transported by ambulance to Northam Hospital for x-rays and stitches etc. I just wanted to thank both ladies for their excellent care of my husband, and congratulations to Sonia who was able to 'pop' that knee cap back with one attempt.  The doctor gave Sonia excellent instructions.   We are very lucky.  Thanks heaps to all concerned.

Dear jetrob52

Thank you for taking the time to share your story.

I am so pleased to read that you and your husband found our staff at Beverley friendly, compassionate and caring during this stressful time.

The Emergency Telehealth Service (ETS) is a great initiative and we are lucky to have this capacity, which allows Emergency Doctors in Perth to video conference in to speak and assess a patient remotely as well as giving guidance to the nurses.

I will be delighted in passing on your appreciation to Sonia, Jo and the ETS doctor, as they pride themselves on these values.

Again thank you for sharing your experience and hope your husband is recovering well.

Best wishes

Sean
