"Royal Melbourne Hospital - Hospital In The Home"

About: Hospital in the Home (Royal Melbourne Hospital)

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) with a regulation foot infection, possible osteomyelitis.

After four days in hospital was sent home to continue treatment via Hospital in the Home. This is a fantastic service.

All the staff and nurses were brilliant. Answered all questions, provided quality care, were very flexible around where they could see me, were punctual, communicated my care plan, and overall were a joy to deal with.

If you are in the position of being offered this service you can have complete confidence in the care you will receive.

Dear bally,

Thank you for your kind comments. It is very important for us to receive feedback on the work that we do and I appreciate that you have spent the time to do this. We try to use Hospital in the Home (HITH) whenever possible because we believe that patients respond better to care if they receive it in their own homes. Studies have shown that providing these types of services do, in fact, accelerate the healing process.

I will certainly pass on your comments to the HITH team and thank you for bringing this to the attention of other patients, carers and families.

Regards,

Prof George Braitberg
