"Visit to Outpatients at the Sydney Eye Hospital"

I had an appointment at the Opthamology Outpatient Clinic at the Sydney Eye Hospital recently. I was waiting in a queue and when I reached the clinic counter with my spouse I was having great difficulty breathing. I have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Nurse Eric asked me if I was alright and my spouse replied saying, can you please check my spouse's oxygen levels, they are having trouble breathing. Eric quickly arranged to check my oxygen levels then arranged urgently for Pratima and Isabella to come and check my blood pressure, blood sugar levels, as I am diabetic also. My oxygen level was 85%. Eric commented he was concerned because of the colour of my face!

The nurses quickly arranged for the crash team to come as I was feeling so dizzy and light headed and my blood pressure was high. My pulse was racing. The doctor who came urgently was very thorough as were the other members of her team. The oxygen they gave me brought my levels up to 91. And the first three nurses from the clinic monitored my condition throughout my visit to the eye clinic. When I was leaving Eric insisted on checking all of my ob's. I can't thank them enough for their caring and kind attention they gave me.
